X Treasure Hunt (“we,” “us,” “our”) creates interactive treasure hunt adventures at renaissance faires and medieval festivals across New England. Our website is xtreasurehunt.com (the “Portal”).

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account on our Portal, we collect your display name and email address through Firebase Authentication (Google sign-in).

Game Data: We store your quest progress, scores, leaderboard rankings, and redeemed rewards within our Portal.

Social Media Interactions: If you participate in our social media quests on Instagram or Facebook, we may collect your public social media username and interactions with our content (likes, comments).

Usage Data: We collect standard web analytics data including pages visited and general device information to improve our Portal experience.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Quest Portal and your account
• To track your quest progress and display leaderboard rankings
• To publish content (images, videos, captions) to our official Instagram and Facebook pages
• To respond to comments and messages on our social media pages
• To send you updates about upcoming events and quests (only if you opt in)
• To improve our services and create new quest experiences

4. Social Media Publishing

We use the Meta (Instagram/Facebook) API to publish content to our official business pages: @xtreasurehunt on Instagram and the X Treasure Hunt Facebook page.

All content published through our tools is created by X Treasure Hunt and posted to our own business accounts. We do not post to any user’s personal account or access any user’s personal Instagram or Facebook data.

We may read and respond to comments and direct messages sent to our business pages in order to engage with our community and provide customer service.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

• Firebase / Google Cloud: For authentication and data storage
• Meta Platforms: For publishing content to our Instagram and Facebook business pages
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and game data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at info@xtreasurehunt.com.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication, HTTPS encryption, and secure cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our Quest Portal welcomes adventurers of all ages. Children under 13 should use the Portal under parental supervision, and a parent or guardian should create and manage their account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement.

Our treasure hunt experiences at faire venues are open to participants of all ages. Participation in physical treasure hunt activities does not require an online account.

If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us at info@xtreasurehunt.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
